The Developmental, Individual Differences, Relationship-Based model (DIR®/Floortime™) addresses  the way processing challenges affect an individual's development in the areas of learning, socialization, communication and behavior. Through interactive play, DIR fosters the individual's shared attention, engagement, reciprocal communication, problem solving, and reasoning to help them move up the developmental ladder.

We use DIR®/Floortime™ to address sensory, socio-emotional and developmental needs and help our students be receptive to learn meaningful skills and academic concepts.

Special Connections Academy offers a 1.5:1 or 1:1 student/teacher ratios, making our program highly individualized.

We serve students that are not able to appropriately access education and/or important socio-emotional skills in a traditional setting.
